Shot my first college football game of the year on Saturday Night. Happened to be the Big Ten Debut of Rutgers University as they played Penn State at High Point Solutions Stadium. Great atmoshere for an eight o’clock game as the student section was going strong a good hour before the game. I noticed a few fans wearing Ray Rice jerseys, not sure I quite understand, perhaps you should let some time go by before you put on number 27. Rutgers had their chance, but in the end, Penn State made some plays and escaped 13 to 10

    NEW YORK - OCTOBER 6, 2004
One of my favorite images of Derek Jeter is during Roll Call in the top of the 1st inning of Game 2 of the American League Division Series at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York. The Yankees defeated the Twins 7 to 6 in 12 innings to tie their best of 5 series at 1 game all. #derekjeter #re2pect #nyy #yankees #farewellcaptain #legend #mlb #baseball @yankees #fbf #flashbackfriday

    Double Duty

So when two marquee events are happening on the same day, what do you do?

You attempt to shoot both of course, what a silly question.

Derek Jeter day and the US Open Women’s Final were going on in New York City, Derek Jeter day around 1pm and the Women’s Final at 4:30. I had a commitment to stay the entire Yankee game, which ended close to 5pm just as the Tennis was just getting started. Had to pack up gear and fight some Yankee, Sunday New York traffic on the way to Queens, Using my trusty Waze App was able to make it to Flushing in about 25 minutes, pretty great time, Serena Williams was up 3-2 on Wozniacki in the 2nd Set and very close to finishing her off . Made a quick decision were I wanted to be and managed to make a pretty nice frame of match point.

Moral of the story, when you’ve shot for a long time,  you kind of look for some new challenges, yesterday was one of those adventures that was just fun to do.

    NEW YORK - JULY 15, 2008

Shot the 2008 All Star game from the Direct TV Blimp high above Yankee Stadium. What started out as an awesome adventure turned into a 10 1/2 hour marathon. We took off from NJ at 4:00pm on beautiful evening. The game started at 8:47pm and lasted til 1:38am. 15 freakin innings !!!!

I think we made about 1000 left turns around Yankee Stadium. I questioned at one point if I should just jump into the East River and take my chances. Hers is a blog post on that day.

Thanks to folks at American Photo for a great article…….. One day you go and take some pictures of a football game, then 25 years pass and someone is writing an article about you for a major magazine about your experiences. Go Figure ! Still excited about what I do and looking for more incredible stories in the next 25 years…

    Philadelphia | May 23, 2014

Yasiel Puig from last nights game in Philadelphia enjoying the Rain. Pretty funny stuff of Yasiel pleading with the umpires to keep playing through a torrential downpour. Have I mentioned I love shooting this guy…..

#tearsheetthursday A recent feature of Grady Sizemore of the Boston Red Sox I photographed for ESPN the Magazine. Grady is another young player I can remember in the Montreal Expos farm system that I would have to find in the back fields in Jupiter, Florida. So few make it, hopefully Grady can stay healthy. Many Thanks to Jim Surber at the Magazine for putting this shoot together.
